Choosing the wrong connectivity for your card terminals is one of the most common (and easily fixed) cost mistakes we see.
Pick Wi-Fi if:
- All trading happens inside a single venue
- You have reliable business-grade Wi-Fi
- You want lowest monthly cost (£8-15/month vs £18-30 for 4G)
Pick 4G if:
- You take payments outside (markets, delivery, on-site visits)
- Your venue's Wi-Fi is unreliable or shared with customers
- You need to fail-over if Wi-Fi drops

For pubs, hotels and busy venues, dual-connectivity terminals (Wi-Fi primary, 4G failover) are usually the smartest choice. The few extra pounds a month is cheap insurance against a failed transaction at peak service.
